Hocking Hills wedding venues with lodging: what to look for in 2027

Hocking Hills is one of Ohio's favorite places to get married: sandstone gorges, waterfalls, and hills that turn gold in October. It is also rural. Hotels are limited, the roads wind after dark, and many guests drive in from Columbus, Cincinnati or out of state. That is why more couples now search for a Hocking Hills wedding venue with lodging instead of booking a barn plus a hotel block.
Why on-site lodging matters more here than almost anywhere in Ohio
- Safety. Nobody has to drive country roads after the reception.
- Time. The wedding party gets ready on site, so hair, makeup and photos stay on schedule.
- Money. You skip the shuttle, and often the separate rehearsal dinner venue too.
- The experience. The wedding becomes a weekend: fire pit the night before, brunch the morning after.
Seven questions to ask every Hocking Hills venue
1. How many people can actually sleep on the property?
"Lodging nearby" and "lodging on site" are different things. Ask for the bed count and which nights are included. At Red Brick Ranch, the Brick House sleeps 10 and a wedding-night stay is included with our weekend packages. A second home on the same ranch, Wildwood Cabin, sleeps 8 more, so 18 of your people can stay on the property.
2. How long is the rental?
Many venues sell short blocks and charge extra for setup. Ask when you can get in to decorate and when everything has to be out. Our weekday and day-only packages run 11 AM to 11 PM, and the weekend packages include the overnight stay.
3. What is the rain plan, and does it cost extra?
Ohio weather changes fast. Look for an indoor ceremony option that is already included. Our Barn is heated and air-conditioned, with 4,000 square feet inside plus covered space under the eaves, so the ceremony can move indoors without a second room fee.
4. Can we choose our own caterer and bartender?
Venues with exclusive catering and bar packages can add thousands. We do not require an in-house caterer: bring the caterer you love, or ask us for local recommendations. Taco bar catering and a licensed bartender are available as add-ons.
5. What is included in the price?
Ask about tables, chairs, golf carts, a bridal suite and parking. These quietly add up when they are rentals. Every Red Brick Ranch package includes The Barn, outdoor ceremony areas, bridal and groom suites, tables and chairs for 150, and two golf carts.
6. How far is it from where our guests are coming from?
Red Brick Ranch is in Logan, about an hour southeast of Columbus, and a short drive from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave and Lake Logan, the places your guests will want to see.
7. What does a weekday or off-season date cost?
The day of the week and the month are the biggest levers on a venue budget. Our weekday packages cost the least, and dates from December through March are 30% less than peak season. See all packages on our pricing page.
A simple way to compare venues
Write a one-line total for each venue: rental, plus required catering and bar, plus rentals, plus lodging, plus shuttles. The venue with the lowest sticker price is often not the lowest total.
